Description

This lay shaft serves as a central gear component within the R380 5-speed manual transmission. It integrates 1st to 4th drive gears into a single forged shaft body, working in conjunction with the input and main shafts to enable complete gear ratio transitions and power delivery. Manufactured from forged carburized alloy steel, the shaft undergoes precision gear hobbing and carburizing heat treatment, achieving a surface hardness of HRC 58–62. Its multi-stage helical gear design reduces operating noise while improving transmission efficiency, making it a critical component for ensuring durability and smooth performance of the gearbox.
