Description

This gear is the 5th gear counter gear used in the Ford Type 9 5-speed manual transmission. It is mounted on the countershaft and works in conjunction with the 5th main gear to provide the overdrive ratio required for efficient high-speed cruising. Featuring a helical tooth design, it ensures smooth operation and improved transmission efficiency.

Manufactured from high-quality SAE 8620 or SAE 4320H carburizing alloy steel, the gear undergoes carburizing and quenching heat treatment to achieve high surface hardness and excellent wear resistance. The inner bore is precision-machined with splines to ensure a secure and accurate fit with the countershaft.
