Description

This gear is the 5th driven gear specifically designed for the Ford Type 9 five-speed manual transmission, commonly used in various rear-wheel-drive Ford models such as the Sierra and Capri. It features a 19-tooth helical design with a short internal spline, allowing precise engagement with the main shaft and synchronizer sleeve for reliable power transmission.

Mounted at the rear section of the transmission, this gear works in conjunction with the 5th idler gear to create an overdrive ratio, reducing engine RPM during high-speed driving and improving fuel efficiency and driving stability. The gear teeth are surface-hardened for enhanced wear resistance and long service life.
