Description

The WT297-11 is a 27-tooth helical 3rd gear designed for Muncie M20 and M21 4-speed manual transmissions, commonly used in 1963–1974 GM RWD vehicles like the Camaro, Chevelle, and Firebird. Made from SAE 8620 or equivalent alloy steel, it is heat-treated through carburizing and quenching to achieve HRC 58–62 surface hardness for reliable wear resistance.

This gear features a standard internal spline specifically for M20/M21 mainshafts and is not compatible with the M22 version. Ideal for OE-style repairs, restorations, and moderate performance builds.
