R380 5-Speed Manual Transmission
Description
The R380 is a 5-speed manual transmission developed by the Rover Group, specifically engineered to handle high torque output and demanding off-road conditions. It is widely used in 4WD vehicles such as the Land Rover Defender, Discovery I/II, and Range Rover Classic. Compared to its predecessor, the LT77, the R380 features significant upgrades in internal structure and durability, including improved synchronizers, reinforced bearing design, and the integration of an internal oil pump system. These enhancements greatly improve gear lubrication and heat dissipation during extended operation.
